One of the world’s favourite wild mushroom varieties. The porcini has a wonderful strong nutty flavour with a beautiful meaty texture. Without question the porcini is one of the most versatile of all wild mushrooms and can be used in any dish. There are a wealth of recipes out there that showcase its versatility.
Grade 1 Porcini – These are small and young mushrooms with a firm button shape. They have a white to cream colour on the cap.
Grade 2 Porcini – These are fully matured mushrooms with open caps and are larger in size. They have a cream to light-brown colour on the cap and green-yellow colour on the underside of the cap.
